The REAL Scandal is…

Tonight is the night lovers of STORY have been dreading. The series finale of Scandal on ABC. This amazing show courtesy of Shonda Rhimes, brought lovers of drama just that:  outrageous story lines, insane plot clotting twists, roller coaster craziness, sweeping over the top drama, memorable one liners, cliff hangers and chemistry so potent it threatened to melt our TV sets.

What a relief to have storytelling returned and give us a break from reality TV or nonstop news. Who needs that? We need entertainment! If I am going to give you an hour of my precious life I want you to give me a story worthy of that sacrifice. Week after week, Shonda and her amazing crew of writers, producers, directors and the ACTORS brought us the goods on Scandal. And not just good, but GREAT.

Scandal is truly, popcorn worthy TV.

Let me explain: I was raised on STORIES. My mother watched Days of our Lives from it’s debut in 1965 till her death in 2001. Friday nights in the 1980’s meant three things: 1. Dallas (on CBS) 2. The family gathered around to watch Dallas 3. Popcorn!

It was during the Dallas years that we graduated from Jiffy Pop to the Popcorn Pumper. On Scandal Olivia Pope defines the food groups as 1. Popcorn 2. Red Wine! This cannot be a mere coincidence!

Scandal with all its codependent craziness restored for me my love of TV. It was as popcorn worthy as Krystal and Alexis duking it out in designer gowns. J.R.’s sneer during a hostile takeover as cuckolded husbands and angry secretary’s plot his murder.

Olivia Pope and company disposing of inconvenient body’s then rigging presidential elections while wearing Prada and Chanel was eye candy reminiscent of Lance zipping around the Tuscany Valley in a Ferrari!

I have loved every minute of it.

Tonight, the popcorn will be finished along with Scandal, but I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Shonda Rhimes and her amazing crew and the cast of Scandal for bringing back popcorn worthy TV.

The real scandal is that it’s over!

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Kerry Washington for her amazing work as a Purple Purse Ambassador for the Allstate Purple purse foundation.  99% of Domestic Violence cases include financial abuse, and finances are the #1 reason a victim can not “just leave”. Kerry, thank you for giving of yourself to this worthy cause for women and children.                                                                        https://www.purplepurse.com/
